The Big Idea: The most important concept that we would like for our players to learn, is the science and health factors of the common cat and mouse. There are many diseases that come from the both of them which a lot of people have never heard about.
Making Decisions as a Team: Fallen Flash Productions came together to make this game with an idea created by accident. We were joking about something and I said a name that sounded like a great idea for a game, from there we just improved upon that from the title and created a game in which we can teach players as they have fun.
Roles and Responsibilities: My team mate and I try to split work evenly. I have worked on the team page and uploaded most of what you see on the page, I also created all of the characters for the game and also our wiki avatars. My team mate has worked on the sound for the game, the buttons, and is currently working on the actual game. He has designed the title screen and all the pages accessible through the game.
Research: The research that I have done is completely different than the research in which my partner has done. My research included the knowledge of the game, such as all of the questions that the player will be asked when playing the game. My partner has done research such as finding the right music and the backgrounds so that we do not completely copy another game.
The User Experience: The game experience has been basically the same from the beginning. This game will be a twist on the classic "PacMan" with characters that are different but the same goal. The player use a rat in order to collect all the cheese in the level without being eaten by the cats. One thing that has changed since the beginning of our ideas is that certain blocks of cheese will mutate the rat into a beast that can easily crush the cats when the player answers a question right.
Mastering Flash: The most helpful resource in using flash to develop this game has been the wiki pages. The information on there as well as the online help desk has been a great aid during the process.
Overcoming Challenges: The greatest challenges in developing our game has been errors in the script we write. Small errors are hard to point out but will screw the game up completely until you find what you have done wrong. Fellow class mates have been the biggest help here by offering advice as to what they did and helping us to find the small errors.
